Scott Metzger shows us what freelancing can get you (without protection).

 When we last spoke to Scott, he had switched his beloved and hilarious webcomic TREE to try something else. He has now discontinued this last strip, called Stewart the Bison (see link box at right) and he now has maybe the best freelance job EVER (see picture above)! No, he's not one of the characters in the fancy suits, strolling down the streets of San Francisco there, but he did design these characters. That's his art on the left. It's for a public health site and the taller character there is named "Healthy Penis". It's a site for syphyllus awareness. The link is here: www.healthypenis.org, but before clicking you may want to be sure that it is OK with your company's server to get cookies and a weblog from Healthy Penis. If you are at home, click away. There's nothing at all wrong with this site or Scott's work, it's great. It's for public health and should not be regarded as anything lewd or silly. But you know how some companies can get. But hell, we're supportive!

Will Scott Metzger ever bring back Stewart? Will he revive TREE? And as for this latest job, will he be able to keep it up??? These and many other pertinent and burning questions may or may not be answered on this show. Who cares, it's hilarious.

 Important bulletin: Please read Paige's blog about this show BEFORE you listen. She has a couple of disclaimers.

Join Brian and Justin as they spend some quality time with Paige Braddock, author and creator of Jane's World and artist of the smashing new science fiction graphic novel, The Martian Confederacy. 

We talk about her cartooning work now at Comics.com and from when she illustrated stories for newspapers in Atlanta.

Paige is a huge fan of sci-fi movies so we touch on that for a while, and how this devotion shaped the texture and look of  the Martian Confederacy, which she drew and co-plotted. It is written and co-plotted by the very talented Jason Macnamara. Here's the official blurb regarding the book:

Brian and Justin talk with Bobby and Peter, the Timony twins, again. They are the creative geniuses behind Twin Comics.com and the Zuda comics feature "The Night Owls ", and are now big honchos over at Zuda! They chose the most recent contestants in the Zuda contest, so go over there and read the comics and vote.

The Night Owls are a team of detectives who investigate the supernatural, set in the roaring 1920's. With clever writing and a crisp, lovely art style, it's no wonder this retro-flavored comic is enjoying so much success. Check out these crazy boys on the show and then read their archive.
