John was looking for someone to split the cost of rent but got more than he bargained for when George, a zombie, became his roommate. |
Zombie Roomie has been running since 2009. |
About Artist: |
This may be my first webcomic project, but I’m by no means new to comics. I’ve read comics since elementary school and drawn cartoons and superheroes just as long. |
I have two degrees in Art from Missouri State: Drawing and Computer Animation. I also received a minor in Art History. |
Pride and Prejudice and Zombies came out earlier this month. Did it live up to your zombie standards John? |
Your comic seems to occupy an interesting mid point between gag-a-day and long form. Which is more dominant? |
There’s a real animation sensibility to your art. Do you ever picture it as an animation? |
I’d say your comic is in PG-13 territory. Do people ever try to convince you to nudge the maturity level in either direction? |
— Could lead into the NSFW stuff on John’s Patreon. |
You’ve been publishing Zombie Roomie since 2009. What do you find the most challenging about keeping a comic going for that long. |
How long have you been using Patreon? |
How has the (Patreon) experience been? |
Has Patreon changed the way you approach the comic in any way? |
How sexy is the $10 dollar level on Patreon for Zombie Roomies? It appears to be your most popular level. Sex sells? |
You have a minor in art history. Pop quiz hot shot… |
Are you an old school Zombie fan? I mean you have to be to start a comic on the subject right…is George a nod to George Romero? |
How do you feel about the current state of Zombies in the popular culture? Do you embrace ZombieTainment or avoid it? |
It looks like you are ComicPress. Care to discuss DIY hosting vs social media centered hosting such as Facebook, Instagram, Tumblr…etc? |
